The 2020 Covid-19 lockdown period produced a number of unlikely celebrities, one of whom was Joe Exotic. Upon the release of The Tiger King on Netflix (in March 2020), Joe Exotic was two months into a 22-year sentence for the attempted murder of his rival, Carole Baskin.
Since then, developed a cult following that includes the likes of fellow celebrities such as Cardi B--who once started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for him.
For now, Joe Exotic remains at Federal Medical Center, Fort Worth, Texas, where he recently responded to a VladTV article about the heat wave in his region and how it has devasted the inmates who share his confines. The former zoo owner wrote "#freejoeexotic" under the original post on VladTV's Instagram page, and he followed that by sharing the post via IG stories with a caption that included his information so that his supporters could add money to his books. https://www.vladtv.com/article/295734/joe-exotic-posts-his-prison-info-in-response-to-vladtvs-story-about-the Joseph Maldonado FMC Fort Worth Reg 26154-017 PO Box 15330 Fort Worth, TX 76119
