I'm running as a Democrat because someone has to stand up for the half of the Democrats with their heads in the sand and the other half with their heads in their asses!

You want to take parents' rights away at school to know if their child is identifying as another sex, which tells the child they don't have to listen to or inform their parents about everything they do as a minor. But when one brings a gun to school or hurts someone, then you want to put the very same parent in jail because it's now their child.

You cannot have it both ways. The government either is responsible for everything about that child and pays to raise it, or you mind your own business, of which you can't even do your own job right, and let the parents raise their own kids.

Crime is out of control because there is no discipline at home now and you want to make it worse by taking more parents' rights away.

by Derek Gilna, Director of Research

It is hard for the average person to fully grasp the positive impact of the First Step Act of 2018 (FSA). This landmark law provided for the first time multiple paths to the courthouse that did not rely on a 2255 or a Supreme Court decision. One measure of how effective it is (and how much the Bureau hates it) is how hard it can be to actually see a complete copy. The Bureau’s 200 attorneys have had to work overtime putting into place multiple schemes to water down Congress’ clear intent to substantially reduce the federal prison population.

Its biggest plus is that it gives federal district court judges the ABSOLUTE right to revisit a sentence based upon the (then) undefined “extraordinary and compelling” circumstances. Many (but not all) judges took full advantage of this to revisit previously harsh sentences, sometimes based upon COVID considerations, but also on many other factors. Prosecutors were often forced to argue that the mere fact of conviction disqualified you from relief, despite years of incarceration, extensive programming, family factors, and advanced age and poor health. (This put the DOJ in the contradictory position of essentially implying that the hundreds of millions spent of prisoner education and rehabilitation were a waste of money and that evidence of rehabilitation was unimportant.)

The 2023 Guidelines, set to go into effect November 1, 2023, less two months from now, destroyed most of the DOJ arguments against compassionate release, and put into play a host of new factors. According to the United States Sentencing Commission (USSC): “The amendment expands the list of “extraordinary and compelling reasons” in five ways to better account for the plain language of section 3582(c)(1)(A) and its legislative history, to reflect the reasons relied upon by many courts after passage of the First Step Act in the absence of a binding policy statement, and to account for recent experiences—including…(1) adds “Medical Circumstances” subcategories; (2) modifies the “Family Circumstances” category; (3) adds a “Victim of Abuse” category; (4) revises (expands) the “Other Reasons” category; and (5) adds an “Unusually Long Sentences” category, permitting consideration of non-retroactive changes in law in a narrow set of circumstances.”

If you are in a position to take advantage of these major sentencing changes, it only makes sense to take advantage of the experience and drafting skills of someone who graduated from law school in 1975, and who has also been a paid journalist since 1962.

The aforementioned “medical circumstances” category for relief is clearly based upon the thousands of complaints for substandard medical care, which has resulted in hundreds of fully-avoidable prisoner deaths, not to mention the unnecessary suffering forced upon helpless prisoners. Thus, it is important to “unload” upon the Bureau for its ongoing policy of deliberate indifference and neglect. From every institution we have heard detailed accounts of delayed medical appointments, mis-filled prescriptions, and alteration of medical record to lessen the severity of prisoner health complaints. In a previous phase of my professional career, I successfully sued several doctors for medical malpractice.

Although under the best of circumstances filing a lawsuit against the federal government purely based upon medical neglect is difficult, time consuming, and expensive. However, when seeking compassionate release and a sentence reduction, you bypass all of those procedural roadblocks and a can put the Bureau on the defensive with a well-drafted petition. Then, once you are released, you can take steps to restore your health, and contemplate filing a civil suit.

As noted in a recent scholarly paper filed on this very subject, the authors of the study highlighted the various conditions-of-confinement challenges that can also be cited in a compassionate release petition:

“People experience severe forms of harm while incarcerated including medical neglect, prolonged solitary confinement, sexual and physical violence, and a host of other ills. But civil rights litigation under the Eighth Amendment — the most common vehicle through which people seek to redress these harms — presents significant practical and doctrinal barriers to incarcerated plaintiffs. Most notably, the Eighth Amendment’s “deliberate indifference” standard asks not whether a person has been harmed, but instead requires plaintiffs to demonstrate a criminally reckless mental state on the part of prison officials. Further, Eighth Amendment remedies are limited to damages or injunctions, which may not adequately redress a specific harm that a person is suffering. For these reasons, the Eighth Amendment has often fallen far short of providing litigants adequate relief.

“At the same time, once a person is sentenced, the original sentencing judge generally has no control over whether a harm suffered in prison is remedied. However, since the passage of the First Step Act of 2018, people incarcerated in the federal system have a new vehicle for getting these kinds of claims into court: federal compassionate release. Compassionate release motions are heard by the original sentencing judge, who has the authority to reduce a person’s sentence if they can demonstrate, among other things, “extraordinary and compelling” reasons (ECRs) that warrant relief.

“In April of 2023, the Federal Sentencing Commission adopted amendments to the Federal Sentencing Guidelines that drastically expanded the ECR definition to include claims based on the types of harms have been traditionally litigated under the Eighth Amendment. These changes represent a radical and potentially paradigm-shifting reform to federal sentencing law and give district courts enormous discretion to reexamine federal sentences…” Extraordinary Punishment: Conditions of Confinement and Compassionate Release, by Meredith B. Esser, 92 FORDHAM L. REV. (forthcoming 2024.)

The courts are also not-so-slowly chipping away at the enhanced penalties for firearm possession for convicted felons, and 924c and 922g fact situations. In an August opinion with a negative result based upon some difficult facts, in Dissenting from denial of en banc review, Eighth Circuit judges make case that blanket felon disarmament violates the Second Amendment. In a rehearing en banc in US v. Jackson, Eighth Circuit Judge Stras convincingly argues that the broad criminal prohibition under federal law precluding persons with felony records from possessing a gun is constitutionally suspect after Bruen.: “By cutting off as-applied challenges to the federal felon-in-possession statute, see 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1), Jackson and Cunningham give “second-class” treatment to the Second Amendment. N.Y. State Rifle & Pistol Ass’n v. Bruen, 142 S. Ct. 2111, 2156 (2022) (quoting McDonald v. City of Chicago, 561 U.S. 742, 780 (2010) (plurality opinion)). Even worse, they create a group of second-class citizens: felons who, for the rest of their lives, cannot touch a firearm, no matter the crime they committed or how long ago it happened. See United States v. Cunningham, 70 F.4th 502, 506 (8th Cir. 2023); United States v. Jackson, 69 F.4th 495, 501–02 (8th Cir. 2023). I dissent from the decision to deny rehearing en banc.

“Practices shortly after the Founding are consistent with the dangerousness rationale. See Bruen, 142 S. Ct. at 2136–37 (discussing the concept of “liquidation”). Of the states that protected the right to keep and bear arms, none disarmed non-dangerous felons. Cf. Handbook on the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and Proceedings of the Thirty-Fifth Annual Meeting 862–63 (1925) (cataloging the earliest felon-in-possession laws in the states). You read that right, none.

“Even violent felons, as a class, were not disarmed until the early 20th century, nearly 150 years later. See Federal Firearms Act, ch. 850, §§ 1(6), 2(e), 2(f), 52 Stat. 1250, 1250–51 (1938). And it was only in 1961, just 62 years ago, that the federal government finally abandoned dangerousness as the litmus test for disarmament in enacting § 922(g)(1)’s predecessor. See An Act to Strengthen the Federal Firearms Act, Pub. L. No. 87-342, 75 Stat. 757 (1961); see also Range, 69 F.4th at 104. There is nothing about felon-dispossession laws that is longstanding, unless six decades is long enough to establish a “historical tradition” of the type contemplated by Bruen. Spoiler alert: it is not. See Bruen, 142 S. Ct. at 2156 (holding unconstitutional a century-old licensing regime).”

From one reader: “Is there a document or a chart that you can send out detailing examples as to how the FSA, SCA and RDAP can be used to calculate going home time with the assumption of being a minimum, medium and then those who are high, like a case study so that we can see assuming maybe SCA of three month increments up a year with one column assuming FSA and SCA and then FSA, SCA and RDAP.“ No, there is no such document, for several reasons. The short version is that the Bureau does retain some discretion in deciding HOW LONG you get Second Chance Act-funded halfway house time, but FSA has thrown long-standing policies and procedures into disarray, and staff either are unable or unwilling to reconcile the differences.

EVERYONE gets SCA halfway house time-lack of an address is not a reason for denial. If you lack an address, contact the local Salvation Army or religious organizations for assistance, and to get an address and defeat this illegal practice of hw house denial. RDAP sentence reductions MUST be given IN ADDITION TO SCA and FSA benefits. START NOW to document all of the errors staff are making, and be prepared to file a 2241 to clarify your rights, regardless of whether you COMPLETELY exhausted your remedies., to avoid the Bureau running out the clock.

Document as best you can staff malfeasance or indifference to following the law, as well as any threats and attempted intimidation or retaliation, which the courts-and I suspect Director Peters- take a dim view.

Press Release: Joe Exotic demands a restraining order

TO: Senator Lankford and U.S. Attorney Oklahoma City For Immediate Release: JOE EXOTIC DEMANDS RESTRAININIG ORDER AGAINST THREE...

News

TO: Senator Lankford and U.S. Attorney Oklahoma City

JOE EXOTIC DEMANDS RESTRAININIG ORDER AGAINST THREE GOVERNMENT WITNESSES IN HIS CASE

I demand that the U.S. Attorney's office in OKC put a restraining order on their witnesses Jeffrey and Lauren Lowe and James Garretson that was involved in my case.

The U.S. Attorney’s office in OKC and the Department of Justice has a corrupt practice of protecting criminals for personal and political agendas and agents have unleashed and given a free pass to these three criminals to continue their bank fraud (www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqVxM8eA30U&pp=ygUPZ2FycmV0c29uIGZyYXVk), rape (www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-kZXnhb3Co&pp=ygUQdGlnZXIgdGFsZXMgcmFwZQ%3D%3D) and identity theft (www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBcThXdNUWw&pp=ygUbZ2FycmV0c29uIGZyYXVkIHRpZ2VyIHRhbGVz)

The U.S. Attorney’s office in OKC, the FBI and the United States have been provided over 1000 pages, videos, photos and recordings from the above three government witnesses cellphones and computers proving such crimes including sex trafficking of over 75 Asian girls from Texas to Las Vegas.

And the Western District of Oklahoma chooses to ignore the truth to keep the conviction on me instead of seeking justice.

Jeff and Lauren Lowe along with James Garretson has and to this day continue to stalk and harass my attorney John M Phillips, his staff and his wife. Filing false reports to the Florida Bar, online threats, harassment and slander.

They attack my power of attorney, my campaign team, anyone who supports me in public along with my fiancé, his sister and ex-girlfriend.

My case is ongoing, I have wasted 16 months now for Judge Palk to rule on a motion for a new trial and with the admissions of perjury, a plot to kill me (www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Jw7ET9Gw70&pp=ygUXdGlnZXIgdGFsZXMgbXVyZGVyIHBsb3Q%3D)

The judge and the U.S. Attorneys are stalling because the course they created will never pass a new jury since we have obtained the government witnesses cellphones and computers exposing that the government knew they were committing perjury.

Jeff, Lauren, James and the hitman Allen Glover were recording the federal agents the whole time and in hopes of becoming famous turned everything over to my attorney proving I’m innocent.

This is the very corrupt system that has indicted Donald Trump with 91 charges, and this would be the same as if the IRS whistleblowers were attacking Trumps attorneys, team and family on a day-to-day basis. It’s illegal and witness tampering. These people need put on a leash by the U.S. Attorney's office who has unleashed this mob of criminals.

As a presidential candidate I call on President Biden, Senator Lankford, Senator Rubio, Congressman Gaetz and Congresswomen Boebert to have the U.S. Attorney in OKC issue a restraining order against these 3 witnesses.

Also, I will not stop until I get an impeachment called for now judge Amanda Green, assistant attorney Charles Brown and the U.S. attorney for violating their oath of office to seek fair justice and for violating my constitutional rights of due process, false imprisonment, loss of my business, and going on 6 years of loss of my life.

President Biden promised during his 2020 run he would reform justice and prison and to this day nothing has been done and crime has gone rampant.

Because all he cares about is climate and dodging questions about Hunter.

The truth about my case and what the feds done to me will be told during this election. Come hell or high water.

To this day my pardon collects dust on Bidens desk.

BIDEN ADMINISTRATION WANTS TO GIVE AWAY SCHOOL DEBT BUT ALSO SCREW THE NEIGHBORHOOOD

So while struggling people are working for pennies at McDonalds and Walmart, Biden is using

the poor and average people tax money to continue to invest and fund the rich.

The same old systems that keep poor people poor are the same ones that cause more people in

poverty to end up in jail. Many lawyers make 50,000 a week, that’s more than most families

make in an entire year.

What happens when the average person needs a good attorney? They can’t afford one or they

have to pay the person that Biden’s policies invested into making themselves even poorer.

Prison has become a poverty trap. Like the chicken and the egg, can’t really say which came

first- poverty or imprisonment.

Generational poverty is hard to break and we as Americans must come up with a solution to stop

the viscous family cycle. The systems that lead to the incarceration of millions of people, creates

an endless cycle of inequality, money for the rich and the curse of generational poverty that is

nearly impossible to break. We all know being poor plays a role in the level of crime in a community because income inequality is actually a prediction of crime rates in an area.

And Biden wants to forgive $400 billion school debt so the college graduates can screw

their neighbors and communities for $500 an hour?

We seriously need to rethink what is being done in America.

Representative Matt Gaetz and Senator Marco Rubio have both filed inquiries and active

investigations into my case and are aware that poverty and imprisonment in America is a

major problem and the system needs to be improved. Their time is an investment into the

future that will allow me to fix this country.

As a free man, I vow to all Americans when elected as the President of the United States I

will make major changes to fix poverty and provide prison reform.

Here are some of my solutions:

• Nonviolent offenders- except for sex offenders should not serve more than 5 years.

• Elderly- 50% of their time served sentence once reach the age 60.

• Military service- should be option for anyone that has nonviolent charges.

• Ghost dope charges- should not even exist.

• First time offenders- should not be sentenced with same guidelines as a repeat offender.

• Prison work release program- so they can provide for families and earn good credit

time towards sentence.

• End prison classes

• Charge the corrupt BOP staff with crimes.

I am calling on Joe Biden to debate me on prison reform and to help end poverty.

Netflix’s “Tiger King,” released March 20, 2020, was an instant hit. The docuseries outlined the twists and turns of the big cat rescue community, with one fascinating figure at the center — Joe Exotic, the tiger king himself.

Who is the ‘Tiger King’?

Joe Exotic, 59, is the subject of Netflix’s wildly popular docuseries “Tiger King.” Released at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, “Tiger King” was immediately a hit. Why? Viewers were fascinated with Joe Exotic’s colorful personality and wardrobe, as well as his obsession with Carole Baskins.

Joe Exotic — real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage — owned and operated a zoo named the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park for 20 years. Born in Garden City, Kansas, Joe Exotic picked up fame when he and his animals toured the country, according to Newsweek.

Joe Exotic was a ‘monster’ says former employee

It was also during this time that Joe Exotic made an enemy of Baskins, owner of Big Cat Rescue in Florida. Per Newsweek, Joe Exotic harassed Baskins for years: he threatened her on his web show, filled her mailbox with poisonous snakes and wrote a country song claiming Baskins killed her first husband and fed him to her tigers.

The tension between Joe Exotic and Baskins hit a breaking point when he attempted to pay a man $3,000 to kill Baskins. This plot backfired when it was revealed that the man Joe Exotic tried to pay was actually an undercover FBI agent.

Joe Exotic was arrested for his murder-for-hire plot in 2018.

Where is Joe Exotic now?

Joe Exotic is currently serving his sentence in prison.

In January 2020, Joe Exotic was originally sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for attempting to hire two men to murder Baskins, as the Deseret News reported.

But in January 2022, a federal judge shaved off one year of Joe Exotic’s original sentence, as the Deseret News reported. Now Joe Exotic is serving 21 years in federal prison.

And what about his love life? The tiger king is no longer with his fifth husband. According to People, Joe Exotic and Dillon Passage split in 2021. Passage filed for divorce in 2022. The two were together for four years.

What’s going on with Joe Exotic?

According to earlier reporting by Deseret News, Joe Exotic announced his 2024 presidential bid earlier this year. He filed as a libertarian and, according to his campaign website, his platforms include “Live how you want,” “Free America from the controlling left and right” and more.

According to Insider, Libertarian Party chair Angela McArdle “slammed” Joe Exotic’s campaign. “We stand for personal and economic freedom, we are not a landing pad for former reality stars and D-list celebrities,” McArdle said in an interview with TMZ.

More recently, Joe Exotic taunted former President Donald Trump on Twitter, in light of the news that Mark Meadows testified to a grand jury “investigating both Trump’s attempts to stay in office despite losing the 2020 election and his classified documents scandal,” per HuffPost.

Meadows, who served as White House chief of staff, likely stopped Trump from pardoning Joe Exotic, according to a book published last year.

“Yeah, that doesn’t sound like something we ought to be involved in,” Meadows is quoted as saying in “Vignettes & Vino: Dinner Table Stories from the Trump White House with Recipes & Cocktail Pairings,” according to The Oklahoman. The book was written by Brian Morgenstern, former deputy press secretary, and Teresa Morgenstern, his wife.

It looks like Joe Exotic hasn’t forgotten the slight — in a recent tweet, Joe Exotic taunted Trump, saying, “I will save you a bunk and a bed roll.”

Trump's rival candidate for the presidency says he should be in jail.

by Ron Filipkowski Aug 22, 2023

After Trump's bail agreement of $200,000 was announced for the Georgia case, federal inmate and fellow presidential candidate Joseph "Joe Exotic" Maldonado issued a statement that he thought the bond was outrageously low given the number of charges he is facing in several jurisdictions.

In his statement he wrote, "91 (felonies) in total and you're still a free man?!"

Exotic, currently serving a 21 year sentence for 17 felony charges, was the subject of the Netflix series "Tiger King." He is also running for president, but whether he will appear on the ballot in any states is still an open question.

Exotic continues to harbor hostility towards Trump since it was Trump's DOJ who put him in prison. Then Trump ignored Donald Trump, Jr's plea to pardon Exotic. No surprise since he usually ignores his oldest son.

Exotic also holds no love for Biden either, since he also has failed to pardon him. He has also been critical of how the Hunter Biden's legal saga had been handled.

Too bad Exotic can't express his outrage on the debate stage tomorrow.

Alas, he is a bit tied up at the moment.

JOE EXOTIC IS INNOCENT

Joe Exotic must add experienced criminal attorneys to his team, or he will never make it out of prison alive.

The system is stacked against anyone that has an opinion, especially Joe Exotic.

Even the prosecutor that convicted him had a vendetta against Joe and is an animal rights activist well connected with PETA.

Joe has the evidence that he was set up and witnesses have admitted to collusion and perjury on video and have even signed affidavits under oath.

Exotic submitted a motion for a new trial over a year and a half ago. The judge that presides in his case has not acknowledged or set a new date to hear the new evidence.

Joe Exotic has over half a million followers on all his social media platforms combined.

All he needs is 30,000 people to text and give $1.00. With the help of Cardi B, Worldstar and No Jumper, Joe could make this possible within a matter of hours and gain his freedom back

Everyone that supports Joe Exotic is urged to help by texting freejoe to 972-635-0744 or visit:

During a multi-unit shake down when approximately 700 to 800 inmates were marched outside to stand in the 100-degree sun inmate Nick Gomez was overheated and had to sit in a small place of shade next to the building.

Officer K Johnson ordered Nick Gomez to go stand in the sun with everyone else and Gomez told the officer he was overheated and needed to go to medical for heat exhaustion. Officer Johnson then asked Gomez if he’d rather go to the SHU because he was not taking him to medical.

Gomez responded, “yes, I actually would.” Officer Johnson ordered Gomez to stand and turn around to be handcuffed and he complied with the order. After he was fully handcuffed and fully restrained, Officer Johnson an avid 6’6 recreation specialist and athletic trainer snapped over something Gomez said and slammed him face first into the concrete- on camera and in front of many inmates and witnesses with extraordinary speed and force.

Then he was taken to medical and then to the SHU where he still sits today.Nickolas Gomez is 160 pounds and was restrained with his hands cuffed behind his back. Officer Johnson is a 6’6 giant of a man in peak physical condition.

It was an excessive and completely unnecessary use of brutal force that officer Johnson should be fired for his job.

Yet the captain here, Captain Pennington condoned and consigned the attack verbally when the inmate witnesses got visibly upset after witnessing this assault.

Nothing was done to the officer, the inmate was put into solitary confinement and is still there.

Tiger King' Joe Exotic's Last Interview Before Solitary Confinement In Prison

Tiger King' Joe Exotic's Last Interview Before Solitary Confinement In Prison: 'Our System Is So Corrupt' by Javier Hasse, Benzinga...

News

Live Interviews

by Javier Hasse, Benzinga Editor

August 5, 2023 2:00 PM | 9 min read

From a federal prison, via a phone call arranged by JT Barnett, the original producer of Netflix's cult hit Tiger King, a familiar voice resounds. It's none other than Joe Exotic, the flamboyant personality known for his audacious presence on the famed show and his unconventional foray into politics.

Exotic is currently running for President of the United States of America while incarcerated. More on this presidential run later in this article.

"I think people have a right to freely consume cannabis, plus it's a smart business move," Exotic states. "I'm all for completely legalizing recreational cannabis everywhere... But you still can't transport it across state lines. We need to change that: It has to be done legally, with dispensaries, and every state needs to be able to profit from the tax dollars."

However, his advocacy for cannabis legalization is not just about the tantalizing promise of potential economic and fiscal benefits. For Exotic, it's an issue of justice, fairness, equitable opportunities and common sense.

"I served as a cop once," he recalls, "Back then, possession of anything under four ounces was just a ticketable offense in Texas. I never quite grasped the fuss because it's been proven beneficial in the medical world and… Can you even find a substantial number of incidents on the Internet where a person, solely high on marijuana, caused an accident and took a life? I bet you'd find very few, if any at all."

Joe's Exotic Weed Story

Despite being a staunch advocate for legalization, Exotic's personal encounters with cannabis are surprisingly minimal. The charismatic figure admits to having dabbled with marijuana only once.

"Here's a funny story for you," he chuckles, "The only time I've ever smoked weed was right after Travis died."

His friends, he recalls, said it would help him clear his mind. "They noticed I couldn't dream about him. So, following their advice, I went to the gas station, bought a pipe, and procured enough weed for one bowl. I then found myself in my living room, surrounded by John Reinke, my manager at the Zoo, Anne [Patrick], Jeff Lowe, and Lauren. After two hits, I was so stoned and paranoid that I erroneously thought Lauren was making passes at me," he shares, laughing out loud.

Today, Exotic steps into a new light, becoming a cannabis entrepreneur in partnership* with Kingmaker Cannabis. An unexpected turn, considering his scant personal history with the substance, yet unsurprising when we consider his inimitable flair for embracing the unanticipated.

Incarceration, Justice And The Call For Reform

As the conversation unfolds, Exotic expresses his concern about the two-party justice system, which he believes treats different segments of society unevenly. "The problem in this country is we have a two-party justice system...We have a justice system for the rich and a justice system for the poor," he says.

Despite his incarceration, Exotic passionately advocates for the decriminalization of small amounts of drug possession and stresses the need for programs that help individuals overcome addiction.

Exotic's experience within the legal system has been frustrating, to say the least. "I've been waiting a year and three weeks now. I filed a motion a year and three weeks ago for a new trial, and the judge refuses to answer it," he shares.

He juxtaposes his situation with Brittney Griner, a professional basketball player who was released from Russian custody after ten months, despite her being aware that her possession of hash oil was illegal. As he puts it, "She [Brittney Griner] got her ass on an airplane... And flew internationally, across state lines and international lines with hash oil that she knew was illegal. Then she gets arrested, she gets charged, and gets freed within months... And I've been waiting five years for just a motion for a new trial."

Moreover, he criticizes the current political leaders, saying, "They [current politicians] don't have a clue what's going on in the real world because they've never lived in the real world. They've always been politicians...They're so far out of touch with what reality is and what's going on in the real world."

His unique perspective on drug use and the justice system is informed by his time in prison. He paints a stark picture of a prison system flooded with drugs and criticizes a system he believes transforms incarcerated individuals into drug addicts. "There are more drugs in this prison system. I made it 55 years without ever seeing heroin...until I came to prison," he assures.

A Presidential Campaign And Exotic's Vision For A 'Great' America

Currently serving time in federal prison while simultaneously pursuing a presidential campaign for 2024, Exotic remains unwavering in his pursuit of change. "If I die in here, I'm going to go in the history books and hopefully laws should be changed because I'll be the first presidential candidate to die innocent in federal prison," he boldly declares.

His perspectives on the system are clear, and he's unafraid to voice them: "Our system is so corrupt and so backwards that nobody can get the right help, nobody can get the right justice. And they're taking it out on innocent people because they can't get to the politicians."

In his presidential run, Exotic is driven by a desire to challenge the status quo, make history and amplify the voices of the unheard. He advocates for politicians to be held accountable for their actions, even suggesting a minimum 10-year sentence for those who violate their oaths. As he states: "I am going to say what nearly 200 million people in this country are scared to say: It is time to clean up Washington."

"We've got people in prison that are dying because they can't get medical help. They're treated like animals...They're not given the proper medical treatment. They're not given the proper mental health treatment," he says.

Exotic's perspectives serve as a reminder of the inherent complexities and contradictions within human nature. Whether or not one agrees with his viewpoints, there is no denying that Joe is unflinchingly authentic.

Cut The World Off

On international policy, Exotic is unabashed in his belief in nationalistic self-preservation. He asserts that America should prioritize its domestic issues, including climate change and economic struggles, over international crises. In this sense, he is staunch in his belief that American tax dollars should primarily benefit American citizens.

What’s more, he suggests a "$50 a month, non-citizen Social Security tax" for immigrants, which could contribute to the American healthcare system. His proposal? A five-year time frame for immigrants to gain citizenship or an alternative of three years of military service.

"Why should anybody from Mexico or Guatemala or Pakistan or China or Japan come here and not have to sacrifice anything and still not be an American citizen? My dad fought for our freedom in Korea," he elaborates. "So, why should you have to pay for somebody to come from another country to get free healthcare?"

Controversy And Conservation: Joe's Stance on Animal Rights

Exotic's stance on animal conservation is as controversial as the man himself. He argues that zoos might be the only way to ensure the survival of species like tigers, given the rapid decline of natural habitats. He passionately defends his decision to call his facility a "zoo" rather than a "sanctuary," asserting that he always provided a safe haven for animals, not exploiting them.

Reflecting on his zoo, Exotic says, "I had the most beautiful, privately owned zoo in the world… Anybody who ever complained about my cages being too small... All they had to do is donate money to build a bigger cage.”

Despite his many roles, from zoo owner and reality TV star to nightclub manager, one thing remains constant: Exotic's unwavering belief in personal autonomy. "I believe that you own your body and you have the right to pursue whatever you want for your body as long as you don't hurt someone else," he explains. He expresses dissatisfaction with the existing system and emphasizes the need for changes that respect the rights and freedoms of individuals, including abortion, regardless of their political affiliation.

LGBTQ+ Rights And Social Perspectives

An openly gay man, Exotic is vocal about LGBTQ+ rights, yet he fears that the push for acceptance of diverse identities may be becoming overbearing, risking setbacks for the community.

He also brings up the complexities surrounding ongoing discussions about transgender rights. He argues that while acceptance and inclusivity are crucial, the discourse must avoid alienating the larger public. In a moment of candor, Exotic shares, "I don't know why the hell I'm gay. I fight it every day and have for 57 years." Still, he champions the LGBTQ+ community's struggles and conquests, and remains an active advocate for its rights.

But Exotic's outlook is far from straightforward, and the controversy surrounding his life and views continues to attract attention. His perspectives range from the unapologetically self-serving to the passionately humane. There's no denying his steadfast belief in the power of personal autonomy and the need for an equitable justice system, even as he grapples with his own demons.

As a cultural figure, Joe Exotic's life and philosophies are a testament to the complexities of the human condition. His journey from the king of an exotic animal park to a federal prisoner and a presidential candidate has been filled with twists and turns.

Exotic remains an emblem of resistance, a symbol of justice for some, and a stark reminder of the deep divisions within American society for others. But above all, he remains Joe Exotic: candid, controversial, and unapologetically himself.

In his own words, "I've lived my life being exotic. It's about standing up for what you believe in, being yourself, not caring what anybody else thinks. I am who I am, you love me or you hate me." As he continues to navigate through his life, one thing is for sure, whether you love him or hate him, Joe Exotic will continue to make his mark, in his own unique and unconventional way.

JOE EXOTIC: LETTER TO PRESIDENT TRUMP

President Trump, in 2020 one of the best news reporters Steve Nelson from the New York Post asked you while in a White House briefing if you were going to pardon the Tiger King and you laughed it off. And for the next year your administration teased the press that I was on that list. Then at some point Mark Meadows talked you out of it.

What’s happening to you now we could call karma, but in reality its very sad what is happening to you and our country with the Department of Justice.

But I’m glad it’s happening to you because now the world is watching, and the corruption is exposed as to what the Department of Justice has been doing to the normal citizens that have no voice, no platform, or the money to hire legal defense.

However, you have the willpower, the support, the drive to make the Department of Justice walk these roads they have started.

I must remind you that the corruption, perjury and creating of this crime the US Attorneys and the FBI along with their witnesses have done to put me in prison and did however happen under your presidency and by your appointed judge and prosecutors.

You still are receiving much more fair justice than anyone else that would be charged with over 72 felonies. We are held without bond, which shocks me they have not yet pulled that on you to get you out of the race to run for President of the United States.

If they do this to you, let me give you an idea of how this works under your Presidency. They arrest you, hold you without bond, put you in a shit hole county jail that the feds have a contract with, keep you in solitary confinement and call it protective custody away from a phone, email, and your lawyers so you cannot build a case of defense. Then if, you push the intercom button or knock on the door they come in with up to 8 guards shoot you with tasers, strip you naked, tie you to a chair, put you in a dark shower until the skin comes off of your arms from the straps you sit in there so long.

I’ve lived through this part, however 21-year-old Justin Thao hung himself and didn’t live through this part from the same abuse.

Then, you will go through a trial where swearing under Oath means absolutely nothing to anyone- including the prosecutors will lie and stack so many charges on you they’ll get some kind of conviction. Then you can look forward to an 11 month wait for them to prepare your PSI so they can sentence you which will determine on if you get a Republican or a Democratic appointed judge which will determine if you spend your life in prison, instead of going by the statute of what the crime is.

After that 2.5 years of being treated like you are a prisoner in Iran or Iraq, you will go to a federal prison where they will again put you in solitary confinement to call it protective custody and you will have no rights as the inmates that do murder or people molest children, just because of who you are.

Then you start your federal appeal process which each appeal will take you 1.5 years if you are lucky and any motions for a new trial, the judge will sit on it for up to two years.

All while the BOP makes your life a living hell by giving you fake disciplinaries, because the prosecutors want your record in prison to look so bad that if you get a new trial or you win an appeal, they can use it all against you in court.

How do I know this? I have lived every bit of it.

It’s going on now for almost six years. All while the Department of Justice knows witnesses have admitted to perjury plus a plot to kill me. But that 98% conviction rate means more to them than the truth.

If you would have just listened to the people that vote that wanted you to pardon me, I’m sure I could have pushed you over that line and today you would be President. But no worries I don’t think President Biden sees the hundreds of thousands of voters that want him to sign my papers as well. So, he will probably miss the same campaign move as you did.

Right now the warden of the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth has made his own rules and instead of fixing the badly needed repairs to this prison, stopping the staff from bringing in drugs and telephones, he puts his energy forward making the inmates lives hell.

Just as he came up with his own rules to take away my privileges of phone and email to whom he chooses because fuckin with your mind is entertaining instead of allowing you the due process the BOP has set out.

As of right now, the warden has taken my phone and email away until Christmas to prevent me from campaigning which is my constitutional right. This has come down from either the Biden administration or Collette S. Peters the Director of the BOP because I’m being too vocal to shut me up. Or is it because Collette Peters doesn’t want the world to know what really goes on within the BOP or Joe telling congress what’s really going on in here?

Either way, too many people have too much power that shouldn’t as you obviously now know.

Good luck in the race for 2024 I hope to live through this to see the free world I so deserve.

Respectfully,
Joe Exotic

RE: Prison Retaliates Against Joe

The warden took it upon himself to take my email away until Christmas. I'm not allowed to use the phone, which I already knew, but I was told I could use my email.

Now the warden has made his own rules giving him the right to pick and choose who he can take privileges away from, so he took my phone AND email away until Christmas.

This is not only a violation of due process, but infringes on my rights according to the BOP rules that allow communication with the news media and my family. It is effectively stopping me from campaigning for office, which is also my Constitutional right.

They protect the drug dealers and the people they favor to keep the market going in here. The administration remedy process is a joke because the BOP would take so long that Christmas would come and go before I could get any relief, and I would have already lost all of my rights anyway to email and phone. They have rigged it this way to always win.

The warden that is running this place lowered our commissary monthly spending from $360 to $250 a month, and that's counting stamps, envelopes, and everything we need to fight our cases. And the meat portions and amount of food on our trays gets smaller by the day.

Why can't the prison afford napkins so you can wipe your mouth while eating? Where's all the trust fund money going? Because it's not going to our care. Items are more expensive with inflation, but they give us less to spend. You hardly get to eat anything at the chow hall because they don't cook anything due to a budget. Is this the prison's money or the taxpayers' money?

They act like they have to work to get the money to pay bills here. The officers' mess hall has a salad bar and they eat good food, while we eat trash and now they change it so we can't even afford to cook for ourselves because they just took $110 a month away.

Tiger King star Joe Exotic is said to have been in solitary confinement in prison for a month as his team hit out at the alleged conditions he is facing

By Jamie Roberts, Assistant US Showbiz and TV Editor

16:08, 25 Jul 2023

Joe Exotic is struggling in prison after spending a month in solitary confinement, with sources saying he's "not doing well" and has lost a concerning amount of weight.

Sources claim the infamous Netflix star, who shot to fame in Tiger King, has been separated from fellow inmates at Fort Worth, where he is currently serving a 22-year sentence after being convicted on two counts of attempted murder for hire regarding his big cats enemy Carole Baskin. He was also found guilty on eight counts of violating the Lacey Act by falsifying wildlife records, and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act by killing five tigers and selling tigers across state lines.

Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado, is still campaigning to become the next president of the United States despite his incarceration. However, his time in solitary is affecting him in many ways according to those close to him.

A source told The Mirror: "Joe is not doing well. He’s thirsty and locked in a cage smaller than what the guidelines are for captive monkeys, even smaller than a parking spot.

"Joe is not able to make any phone calls and he has lost 18 pounds so far with no access to nutritious fresh foods or cold clean water."

The insider sensationally went on to claim his placement came as a bid by president Joe Biden to "shut him up" revealing he had been there since June 23.

However, a member of his campaign team said "Team Exotic 2024 cannot be silenced" and defiantly claimed the campaign for presidency "continues to make great strides and is demanding to know why the motion for Joe's new trial has been ignored for 14 months".

It's not the first time Joe has been kept in solitary confinement since his imprisonment in 2019. A year later, his husband at the time Dillon Passage admitted he was concerned for the reality TV star and former big cat breeder after he had been kept in solitary confinement for four months.

Discussing his presidential campaign last month prior to his confinement, Joe claimed he would pardon Donald Trump if he landed the role in the White House - but confessed he would make him squirm first.

His words came as he responded to fellow 2024 US Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on Twitter, who had challenged everyone in the race to commit to pardoning Trump if they’re elected.

Joe tweeted: "I would pardon him but after he spent at least 30 days in the same solitary confignment [sic] as any of the rest of us so he knows just how bad it sucks to be innocent and stuck in this f***ed up system."

In 2022, the former zookeeper was resentenced to 21 years after a judge rejected his plea to be freed.

Baskin said her foe received "fair punishment" for his terrifying murder-for-hire plot. She said last year: "I do think that the punishment fits the crime because he’s someone who caused hundreds upon hundreds of tigers and lions and ligers to be bred into a life of deprivation, captivity, and pacing back and forth in tiny jail cells the same size as the one that he’s in now."

The Mirror has contacted the federal prison in Fort Worth where Joe is incarcerated for comment on his claims.

A letter from Joe Exotic:

I am sitting here in a tiny little concrete room wondering where this all went wrong??

It was by believing in my country and my constitution of the United States and it giving me the right to a fair trial, the minute I asked for a fair trial America punished me adding 20 more charges to make sure the crime they created would stick.

Then the DOJ employees, 2 ass US Attorneys Amanda Green and Charles Brown and a federal wildlife officer who clearly knows their witnesses against me are lying.

Not only did they know they were lying but helped them lie.

Everytime I brought up James and fake drivers licenses they shut me down but Amanda Green covered for him and asked him if they were for stripclubs when weren't and we can prove that with Fake ID's, signed leases for sex trafficking.

None of the truth was told about that because the DOJ controlled the entire narrative, put me on trial over my sexuality, the Big Cat Safety Act and they knew then and we have proof now.

I did not mail that phone, Allen did not go to Florida, Allen and everyone has since admitted to perjury and a plot to kill me. This wouldn't even be a federal case if the DOJ didn't lie to make it one and Eric Goode the producer of Tiger King to pay witnesses 5,000.00 during my trial to keep the agenda so he could get rich and make a movie.

I think the saddest part is my brother Yarri admitted him and Chelsea were in this from the start only because they were afraid mom and dad would spend everything building that zoo and they wouldn't get anything when they died.

So they had to put me in jail and get mom and dads power of attorney away from me and get it all in their name before they died.

I have no family, mom and dad both died while being in here. They destroyed my house and my zoo and you got to ask yourselves why did they leave something so famous just like a ghost town and rot away? Were they really that jealous or was this really that politically motivated?

Someone go take photos of my house now and go through my IG, FB and YouTube and get photos when I was there and put it all online in President Bidens and Trumps face and ask "When a man works 55 years and stays out of trouble is this the American dream we deserve?"

Justice will never be fair or equal and America should be very concerned that Amanda Green the known DOJ liar is a federal judge doing this to others every day and you could be next.

My attorneys have the evidence to get me home but it is no good for a judge never has to answer a motion for a new trial just in hopes I die in here so this goes away.

So I need you my family all over the world to rise up to President Biden to make this right and at least commute my sentence if he is too blind to see I deserve a pardon and let me go back to helping people around the world.

If I don't make it out alive be damn sure we have one hell of a party at Woosters in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma- then off to the lake to see Travis.

Stand up. Be my Voice.

Get Michael, Allen and Rink to D.C. for a press conference.

I love you all.

Updated: Jul 18, 2023 / 02:33 PM CDT

FORT WORTH, Tex. (KFOR) – The famed ‘Tiger King’ says he’s on the 2024 presidential ballot in New Hampshire.

Joseph Maldonado, also known as Joe Exotic, announced his presidential bid in March. After running as an independent in the 2016 presidential race, Maldonado says he’ll be registered under the Democratic Party this go around.

Who’s running for president? See a rundown of the 2024 candidates

Now, he says his campaign has raised the funds needed to get on the ticket in New Hampshire.

Joe Exotic is currently serving a 21-year federal sentence after being convicted on multiple charges, including violations of the Endangered Species Act and a murder-for-hire plot against wildlife park rival, Carole Baskin.

Nothing in the law prevents a person from running for president from prison or as a convicted felon. This is because, constitutionally, the only requirements for office are that someone is 35 years or older, is a natural-born citizen, and has been a resident for 14 years.

“Running from prison at the Fort Worth Medical Center in Texas, Joe Exotic is making history with his grassroots 2024 Presidential campaign,” said the Joe Exotic 2024 campaign. “Although the U.S. government put him in solitary confinement June 23rd his campaign continues to make great strides.”

Maldonado says his next goal is Louisiana.

In June, Joe Exotic said he had filed paperwork to be on Colorado’s primary election ballot after choosing the Centennial State as “the first target” in his journey to get on the ballot in all 50 states.

However, the state secretary’s office confirmed to Nexstar’s KDVR that the paperwork required to be on the ballot has not yet been released because the date for the election has not been officially announced and therefore cannot have been completed.

“Joe Exotic has raised the funds needed to get on the ticket in New Hampshire,” his campaign announced on Tuesday. “Running from prison at the Fort Worth Medical Center in Texas, Joe Exotic is making history with his grassroots 2024 Presidential campaign.”

Exotic, 60, was convicted in 2019 of animal abuse charges and hiring a hitman to kill Carole Baskin, a woman who ran Big Cat Rescue and frequently butted heads and traded allegations with Exotic. Earlier this year, it was announced that the animal sanctuary would close.

‘Joe Exotic’ says he’s running for president as a Democrat.

His 22-year sentence was handed down in January 2020, just a couple of months before “Tiger King” blew up on Netflix at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While in federal custody, Exotic has mounted a longshot presidential campaign using the slogan “What do you have to lose?”

Exotic has attempted to gain his freedom, but his bid for a pardon from then-President Donald Trump was unsuccessful, even though his attorneys had readied a limousine in celebration.

In the meantime, he has continued to proclaim his innocence, including on the landing page on his campaign website.

Despite his claims, Colorado says Joe Exotic isn’t on state’s presidential ballot

“The only thing I did was put five very old, crippled tigers to sleep in the most humane way possible and it was approved by my USDA Inspector, so it’s time to get over it,” Exotic wrote. “PETA kills thousands of animals a year. Carole has killed over 226 big cats and most of you eat some kind of animal everyday, so it’s time to move past this issue.”

This isn’t Exotic’s first turn in politics. In 2018, he ran for Oklahoma governor as a Libertarian. In pursuing the presidency, he’s running as a Democrat.

His campaign says Exotic’s next target in his race for president will be Louisiana.

You have to imagine that Anheuser-Busch executives would love to have a do-over for 2023.

It's also nearly impossible to imagine that Bud Light, once the world's most popular beer brand, could see its sales tumble after a Twitter post from Kid Rock.

In that post, Rock shot up cases of Bud Light, ostensibly because the Anheuser-Busch (BUD) - Get Free Report brand hired the transgender social-media influencer Dylan Mulvaney for a small marketing campaign.

The beer company sent Mulvaney a Bud Light can with her face on it and paid the influencer to share posts about the beer with her followers.

The company was simply trying to reach out to the LGBTQ+ community and make Bud Light even bigger. Rock did not like that, nor did a significant portion of Bud Light's core audience, some of whom also took offense at comments made by the former Bud Light brand leader Alissa Heinerscheid.

On a podcast Heinerscheid called the beer's customers "fratty" and made other ill-advised disparaging comments about the customers who drank the beer brand she was leading.

We had this hangover, I mean Bud Light had been kind of a brand of fratty, kind of out-of-touch humor, and it was really important that we had another approach,” she said.

Heinerscheid's comments, which were made before the Mulvaney campaign, were fuel on the fire; it was the use of Mulvaney in the first place that lit the flames.

And Kid Rock focusing attention on the issue has also made commenting on Bud Light an easy way to gain attention for country performers and fringe stars looking to establish their right-wing bona fides.

After Kid Rock's comments, a number of country stars took a stand on Bud Light, with many going out of their way to say they won't drink the brand anymore or serve it in their bars.

John Rich of Big & Rich fame, Travis Tritt and, of course, Ted Nugent have all made anti-Budweiser comments and claimed to have dropped the company's products from their concert riders.

Budweiser did, however, have some supporters in the country community. Garth Brooks made clear that Bud Light would be served at his soon-to-open Nashville bar, which he pledged would be a place where all are welcome. In addition, Jason Isbell mocked Rock on Twitter for his stance.

Country singer Zach Bryan also joined Brooks and Isbell in calling for tolerance for everyone.

"I mean no disrespect towards anyone specifically, I don’t even mind @travistritt,” he tweeted on April 8. “I just think insulting transgender people is completely wrong because we live in a country where we can all just be who we want to be It’s a great day to be alive I thought.”

Now, since the entire country world seems to have been heard from, imprisoned Netflix ( star Joe Exotic has weighed in on the issue.

When Netflix released "Tiger King," in March 2020, it became a massive hit, at least partially because it was released during the beginning of the covid lockdowns.

It was the sort of bonkers escapist reality/documentary entertainment that America needed to distract it from the terrible reality we were all living through,

The show made a star of Joseph "Joe Exotic" Maldonado, a kind of pro wrestling character who ran an illegal big-cat (tiger) breeding facility. Now, from prison, Exotic has weighed in on the Bud Light sales drop and has offered his help to the brand.

"Budweiser- Try putting the world's favorite transphobic gay redneck on a can and get back to selling beer," the jailed star's team posted on Twitter, along with a doctored image of a Bud Light can featuring him and a tiger.

"Maldonado is serving a 21-year sentence following a conviction in 2019 on multiple charges, including two counts of hiring hitmen to murder wildlife activist Carole Baskin. He was also convicted of killing tigers and selling them across state lines," Newsweek reported.

In addition to his admitted pride at his intolerance toward trans people, Maldonado has maintained his innocence and has asked both former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden to pardon him.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, SENATORS TELL BOP

It’s been a rough ride for BOP Director Colette Peters' 1st year, due mostly to problems that preceded her tenure.

There has been a steady stream of BOP employees being convicted of everything from cellphone smuggling to COVID fraud. Last week, two more BOP COs agreed to plead guilty to sexually abusing female inmates at FCI Dublin and then lying about it. The Dept of Justice Inspector General issued a scathing report of BOP mismanagement and maladministration that led to the suicide of high-value celebrity prisoner Jeffrey Epstein and the murder of Whitey Bulger.

This past week saw a former US Gymnastics doc – serving a life sentence – stabbed at USP Coleman by attackers unknown. BOP employees blamed the attack on a short-staffed facility.

The Associated Press reported that the prisoner was attacked inside his cell, “a blind spot for prison surveillance cameras that only record common areas and corridors.” The AP said, “In federal prison parlance, because of the lack of video, it is known as an ‘unwitnessed event.’”

It isn’t clear that even full implementation of last year’s Prison Camera Reform Act (Pub.L. 117-321) would have stopped the stabbing or prevented Capitol Hill from finally having had enough of BOP follies.

A bipartisan group of senators last week introduced the Federal Prison Accountability Act of 2023, intended to increase oversight at federal prisons.

Among other things, FPAA would require the president to seek Senate advice and consent when appointing the BOP director, who would be appointed to a single, 10-year term.

Sen Charles Grassley (R-IA), ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said requiring Senate confirmation of the BOP director would “bring badly needed transparency and accountability to the federal prison system.”

“The Director… leads thousands of employees and expends a massive budget,” Grassley said. “It’s a big job with even bigger consequences should mismanagement or abuse weasel its way into the system.”

Following an 8-month investigation last year that revealed rampant sexual abuse by BOP employees of female prisoners, Sen Jon Ossoff (D-GA) introduced the Federal Prison Oversight Act (S.4988). The bill – which would have required the DOJ Inspector General to conduct inspections of the BOP’s 122 correctional facilities, provide recommendations to problems and assign each facility a risk score – had no chance of passage in the waning days of the 117th Congress.

But in April, Ossoff introduced a revised FPOA (S 1401), with Rep Lucy McBath (D-GA) filing a companion bill in the House (HR 3109). The new FPOA would have, among other actions, created a hotline for prisoners to report misconduct.

Now, three months later, the latest effort to reform federal prisons would subject the BOP director to the same congressional scrutiny as other law enforcement agency chiefs such as the FBI director.

Grassley introduced the FPAA along with Ossoff and 8 other senators.

With that kind of legislative horsepower behind it – not to mention black eyes like Jeffrey Epstein, Whitey Bulger, and the latest stabbing – it’s safe to predict that Peters may be the last BOP Director to be appointed without Senate approval.
